CUES Regional Initiatives
South
Florida Regional Resource Center
The South Florida Regional Resource Center is an innovative
institutional approach to increasing the abilities of
South Florida’s residents and
neighborhoods to influence and shape public policy issues at a regional level.
Research
South Florida
Research South
Florida is one of
CUES’s
newest regional initiatives. It is a one-stop center
for finding research expertise on important public
policy issues in South Florida.
Regional
Indicators Project
In 2004, CUES published their second regional indicators
report entitled Regional Shift: South Florida in Transition,
an update to the 2001 report Imaging the Region: South Florida via Indicators
an Public Opinions. This publication continues the dialogue
about the changes, challenges and opportunities facing South
Florida. Another iteration, to be published in late 2005, will focus on those
indicators most closely linked to sustainability and economic prosperity.
Florida
Public Officials Design Institute at Abacoa
There is no other program in Florida that is
dedicated to improving Florida’s
towns and cities by offering hands-on design training for locally elected
officials that gives them the problem-specific tools they say they need.
The Design Institute assists officials in bringing out the latent potential
that exists and gives them the knowledge they need to exert leadership in
shaping their communities.
Development
Without Displacement
This project grew out of the Eastward Ho! Initiative. Eastward Ho! encourages
development and revitalization in the traditionally urban coastal ridge running
north and south through Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, and St. Lucie.
